In the 1872 Post Office Directory John was classed as Whateley & Davis, Builders & Wheelwrights, Alcester Street.  In the 1873 Littlebury's Directory and Gazetteer John was classed under Contractors, Whateley & Davis, Alcester Street.  John died 9th June 1874.
