(On the 1871 census the enumerator stopped at this house in Vine Street before going on to Evesham Street) (On earlier census Vine Street was known as Red Cow Yard but not mentioned on the early census records only as Evesham Street and later census Vine Street became Worcester Road) The 1871 census stated that the "White Swan" was in Vine Street but it was on the corner of Vine Street and Evesham Street so could be classed as in either street as on earlier census it was in Evesham Street. Joseph was the licensee 1867-1873. On the 1861 census they seemed to live in Headless Cross. Joseph died 8th January 1873.
Ann had 4 working children + 3 younger children + 3 boarders. (On the 1881 census the enumerator started at this house in Vine Street after 30 Evesham Street "Vine Inn") (On later census Vine Street became Worcester Road) On some of the earlier census this was classed as being in Evesham Street and Ann took over the license from her husband Joseph and was licensee 1873-1882. On the 1891 census Ann lived in Ipsley Street, Redditch and Ann was classed as Invalid and had her son Harry living with her. Ann died in 1900.

(On the 1891 census the enumerator stopped at this house in Vine street before going on to 32 Evesham Street) The "White Swan" was sometimes classed as being in Evesham Street as it was on the corner of Evesham Street and Vine Street and Alfred was licensee 1889-1900. (On later census Vine Street became Worcester Road) On the 1901 census Alfred and his wife and family lived at the "Wagon and Horses", 14 Beoley Road, Redditch. Licensee 1901-1912. Alfred then went on to be the licensee of "Royal Hotel" 1912-1936.
