Day-to-day events have always been reported in local newspapers. Such events reflect life in the town, current fads, trends and what impacts peoples lives. If you groups and sequence these stories you can build a picture of what life was like for past Redditch residents.
The History in Print project has been using both physical Newspapers and on-line archives of old newspapers to do just that. This site collects together that research and presents a view of life in Redditch over the years by subjects and topics within those subjects.
This section of the History In Print gallery gives an index to the content of the gallery included as extracts from printed newspapers..
As well as using on-line sources for the information presented on this site, we are also collecting edition of old Redditch Newspapers for our archives.
Please note that this is an ongoing project and this site is still under construction so in many cases content has not yet been added.
There are also copyright restrictions with some of the source material and hence if you are viewing this on-line some content may not be available. Click image for more details
If you have old editions that you are willing to donate, or even allow us to copy, please get in touch.
