NextBackThis picture looks more less South towards what was the corner of Wellington Street with Queen Street and the site of the former Enterprise Works. Over the wall in the background is the roof of the Queens Head pub in Queen Street and is still standing! It was to The Queens’ that we used to return empty cider flagons which we had found to make a bit of extra pocket money – a flagon was worth 6d (about 2p) then.
