Wellington Street - West side

Peter White remembers…..NextBack

This was the part of the street that I knew best! Number 2 wason the corner and was home, the chimney of which can be seen our TV aerial Number 4 was where my Granny and Grandad Johnson lived until 1955 and  then number 6 and the then the rear entrance to the National Provincial Bank (later to become the NatWest). It was a door which served as a goal for winter football and on which we chalked our wickets for summer cricket.
