School Life & Me

During the week I continued to attend Bridge Street School and I think the reason that only selected memories of this time survive is because school required certain attributes, communal learning, group effort, team spirit and competitiveness. These annoying requirements were all things that I was not very interested in, they did not impinge on my consciousness so were therefore placed on a 'backburner’. Any successes I may have had at school were generally those that involved me in a solo capacity, I was the music teachers pet and paradoxically, in spite of an inherent shyness, excelled as classroom clown, wallowing in the approval of my classmates, 'The ego had landed'
