NextBackRight at the end of Peakman Street on the corners with Archer Road were the Schools. On the southern corner was St Stephens Infants School where I began my education - we did our work on slates writing with chalk – pencil and paper came later.
The school relocated to Mabey Avenue in the early ‘60s when the building later became a Teachers Centre. The boarded windows suggest that the picture was taken prior to demolition in the 1970s
