Tommy Johnsons Wine shop
NextBackTommy Johnsons Wine shop was at the bottom of Front Hill. Tommy having long since gone 'upstairs', David Beesley and his wife ran the establishment. A somewhat posh establishment, your bottle of wine was expertly wrapped in tissue paper on the counter before being handed to you, not a bit like having to chuck it in a supermarket trolley as we do now. Wine in those days was usually for special occasions only, David was always able to recommend something special, at a special price. I last saw him running a newsagents up by the cathedral in Worcester City
