NextBackThe picture shows the street looking towards its junction with Wellington Street with Cannings Forge in the right hand foreground. I never did know whether the street name came to be what it was because of the blacksmiths forge located there. The blacksmith lived in the house behind the forge on the right. The boarded windows suggest that demolition was imminent.
