As well as the written words, photographs and artefacts that record and present our history, moving picture not only tell a story but bring those stories to life.
Moving pictures range from amateur made home movies through edited compilation to professionally made films, many of which were sold commercially.
Today there is another growing body of history films comprising mews reports from television and internet published works, particularly from YouTube.
We have collected many such media offering from both donations and the from other sources. Many of the titles we have uncovered are such significance that in the past we have worked with The Media Archive For Central England (MACE) so that they are digitally re-mastered and secured in their archives.
MACE also have additional titles, particularly those produced for television, in their archives that complement those that we have.
Because of this varied source of this material, and our duty to respect the copyright of many titles, we do not make these films available on-line.
They are however available to view off-line and are often available at events and exhibitions we support.
