Awarded the British War Medal and Victory Medal.  He died of wounds (gas).

The Redditch Indicator – Saturday 20th April 1918 states that he died of of effects of gas shell poisoning.  That he had been admitted into the 3rd Canadian Stationary Hospital, Doullens where he shortly afterwards died.  Also mentioned in Redditch at War by Alan Foxall and Ray Saunders (Page 48)
