The Bromsgrove, Droitwich and Redditch Messenger – Saturday 19th October 1918 and Evening Despatch – Thursday 24th October 1918.  They stated that he had gone to Australia to take up farming.  He was also a keen athlete, doing some remarkable walks, for which he gained the Australian championship for both long and short distances, and also won many medals and prizes.   That he was a native of Headless Cross.  There is a picture of him in one of the papers
