The Bromsgrove, Droitwich and Redditch Messenger – Saturday 29th September 1917, states that he was wounded.  The Bromsgrove, Droitwich and Redditch Messenger – Saturday 15th June 1918, states that he was missing.  The Bromsgrove, Droitwich and Redditch Messenger – Saturday 1st February 1919, states that he had been a prisoner of war in Germany who had been released home to England.
