He was awarded the Air Crew Europe Star Campaign medal of the British Commonwealth.  He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Medal in 1940.

Birmingham Daily Post – Saturday 14th September 1940, Aberdeen Journal – Thursday 19th February 1942 and Aberdeen Weekly Journal – Thursday 26th February 1942 - Killed September, 1941, while on operational duties over enemy territory.
