Lost Redditch Streets

Oakly Road probably takes its name from Oakly Park near Ludlow, a property owned by the Plymouth family. The train line disappeared into the tunnel near the junction of Oakly Road and Ludlow Road, ran under Mount Pleasant and reappeared not far from Glover Street. The houses were built about the same time as those on Mount Pleasant, when it was also considered to be an up-market road.
