The HISTORY of REDDITCH New Town

After the 1999 fire the Art and Design Departments moved to temporary accommodation
in Britten Street. In November 2000 the NEW College Sixth form Centre was opened. This
was in A block and catered for 500 students. In 2001 buildings that housed the Hall, B
block and the seminar room were demolished and new buildings erected and opened in
2003. The new Archer Road building was largely steel and glass while another feature
was the glass covered piazza adjacent to Peakman Street. Peakman Street was shortened
so it no longer joined Archer Road.

The new sports hall on the Redditch campus was officially opened on 24th May 2007 by
the Prime minister, Tony Blair. NEW College continued to expand and in September 2009
it became the largest education provider in the county with more than 3000 full-time
       students.

In 2014, New College Redditch Merged with Worcester Technical College to form The
       Heart Of Worcestershire College.

The Heart of Worcestershire College is a Further and Higher Education College that offers
