The HISTORY of REDDITCH New Town

        The Buses

        As the various residential
        and industrial estates were
laid out, a network of bus
        routes was established fed
        from a central “Transport
        Interchange” located
        adjacent to the railway
        station. These bus routes
        included in some areas, “Bus
        Only” lanes to keep them
        free of private transport
        vehicles.

Initial bus services were branded as “Reddibus” and at one stage, 5 M.A.N Bendi Buses
were loaned and trialed within the town on the R8 and R9 circular routes. These trials
were obviously not successful and the Bendi Buses were withdrawn.
