Almanack and Trade
Theatre did not have a Directory 1919-20
piano. Grandad Birch
would wheel his upright
piano from his house on
George Street to the
theatre whenever it was
needed for
performances. After the
show, it would be
wheeled back again, no
matter how late it was.”
