Palace Performer Sheila McMahon tackles social stigma of mental
health - 2015
A PALACE Theatre performer has swapped standing on stage for standing on shelves after
releasing a new book.
Comedienne Sheila McMahon, who is also a psychotherapist, has written about tackling
mental health after battling severe depression since a child.
Using her personal experiences, years of counselling others and her sense of humour, the 39-
year-old is on a mission to try to reduce the social stigma that surrounds the issue.

Cumbrian Celts upstairs at the Palace - 2015
STEP back in the mists of time to the age of the Celts with Yis Aye who play the Room
Upstairs of the Palace Theatre, Redditch this Saturday, June 6 at 7.45pm.
A Cumbrian duo, Neil and Yvonne offer a mixture of homegrown and familiar material on
guitar, flutes, mandolin, bouzouki and fiddle.
They regularly play a variety of gigs, folk clubs and festivals and enjoy local Cumbrian
sessions with their interweaving harmonies, well-crafted songs and varying instrumentation,
with influences from Americana, folk and bluegrass.
