JOHN BONHAM MEMORIAL
The permanent bronze memorial was erected in
Redditch town centre to commemorate John's 70th
birthday on May 31st 2018, following a campaign by
the John Bonham Memorial Friends.
Inspired by an original photograph taken by James
Fortune, it was created by sculptor Mark Richards
and cast by the Morris Singer Foundry. The statue is
emblazoned with the words: ‘The most outstanding
and original drummer of his time, John Bonham's
popularity and influence continue to resonate with the
world of music and beyond’. It can be seen on Mercian
Square, Alcester Street, B98 8AA, in the heart of
Redditch town centre.
