Paddock the Bruiser – This notable, together with his opponent in the late fight,
Poulson, another boxer named Callaghan, and four others, have been committed by the

Belper magistrates for trial at the assizes for riot and assault at Turndith on the 16 inst.
Bail has been refused except in the case of one Taylor a Belper man. Callaghan’s capture
prevented another of these exhibitions, which was to have taken place yesterday, and in
which he was to have figured as one of the principals. Wragge, the constable, is slowly
recovering.
