Redditch Food Control Committee – Alleged Profiteering – At a meeting of the
Redditch Food Committee on Tuesday, Mr G. W. Hobson (Executive Officer) complained that
the butchers were not complying with the Order by sending in the prices of meat. An expert
had visited the town, and had stated to the Secretary that profiteering was going on. At the
conference of the committee and the butchers, held a few weeks ago, he (Mr Hobson) said
he thought they (the butchers) were going to play the game.
