years 9 months and was living in Ipsley Street, Redditch. He was awarded the British War
Medal and Victory Medal.)

Hunt End Soldier Killed –Mrs Saunders, of Hunt End, has received official information that her

son, Driver Hubert Saunders, was killed in action on September 20 . Driver Saunders
enlisted two years ago and had seen much fighting. An officer, writing to his mother, said he
was a fearless soldier, always ready in time of need. A truer friend no man ever had.
