Bus History Redditch Heritage
Various factors, such as increased car ownership, a subsidised rail service and the
partition of Midland Red brought a decline in the services.
Route 142 survived in an abbreviated form until 1985 and the last limited-stop journeys
were withdrawn in March 1991.
Midland Reds became ' "Badgers" and then "Firsts", but whatever the logo the old bus
route has survived into its 97 year and is still going strong.
