Life and Times of Leonard Dent Millar

Leonard Dent Millar was born in Redditch 27 June 1916 to Robert Millar (1876 - 1954)
and Isabel Emms (1882 - 1973) (with grand parents Robert Millar (1843 - 1912) and
Julie Ann Dent (1845 - 1925)). Between 1930 and 1940 he was employed by the
Redditch Indicator as a journalist. It was during this time that he and two friends, Dennis
Treadgold and Graham Morgan, discussed the existence of the Redditch Scientific
Institute (formed in 1850) to promote science and literature with the aim of restarting
the meetings. Nothing happened - impending war loomed on the horizon.
