Life and Times of Robert Windsor-Clive

However, the lapse of the title with the death of the 6th Earl of Plymouth, Other Archer
Windsor, is not the end of the tale.

Other Archer's sister Lady Harriet had married Robert Clive and in 1855 the barony of
Windsor was brought out of abeyance in favour of his widow Harriet who became the
dowager baroness Windsor.

Robert Clive was a successful politician serving in the cabinet. He was also a wealthy
landowner and businessman. Clive died in 1854 aged 65 and was buried at Bromfield
parish church close by the family home of Oakley Park near Ludlow, Shropshire.

Harriet and Robert had several children one of whom was another Robert who, like his
brother George, took the name Windsor-Clive.
