My Palace Theatre and other Memories Redditch Heritage

The Blue Rockets Dance Orchestra shows the Army Dance Band which was

stationed in Germany and appeared at the Theatre and afterwards went on to a
dance at the Royal Enfield Canteen. It's director, seen here on trombone, was

Ronnie Rand who married local operatic singer Millicent Phillips at St Stephen's
Church.

Many such big bands have appeared and been photographed on the Palace Stage,
including the Syd Lawrence Orchestra, The Glen Miller Band, the Gary Allcock
Midlands All Stars, I myself have presented the South Side Big Band and the Vic

Butler Orchestra.
