Recruiting at Redditch – A largely attended and enthusiastic meeting was held at the
                                   rd
Drill Station of the 3 (Redditch) Worcestershire Battery R.F.A., on Monday night, for the
purpose of stimulating recruiting for the new brigade of artillery which is being formed in
Worcestershire to take the place of men who have volunteered for foreign service. – Colonel
               C. F. Milward, who presided, said that Redditch and district had done very well, having
contributed no less than 1560 men. More were still needed, however, and he urged young
able-bodied men to join some branch of the service. – Colonel R. E. Lyon, commanding the
new brigade, said that when he visited Redditch a fortnight ago he could only count upon
about fifty men, whereas new he was the proud commander of nearly 600. – Addresses were
also given by Mr A Williams and Sergeant-Major Gregory. – A good number of recruits were
enlisted, and the formation of the new corps will shortly be an accomplished fact.
