L/Corporal Leonard Simion Cooper, (1241), 14 Battalion, Royal Warwickshire Regiment,

born and resided in Redditch, enlisted in Warwick killed in action, 7 May 1917, France.
Remembered on Arras Memorial at Faubourg-D’Amiens Cemetery, Arras. His parents were
James E. L. and Sarah Ann Cooper of 1 Ridley Street, Birmingham.
On 1911 census Leonard Simion Cooper, was a Private (641) I/r War R, Ceylon and India.

Motor Corps. - The Worcestershire Volunteer Regiment – A Motor Corps is
now being formed to provide the transport required by the Worcestershire Volunteer
Regiment, and for other military services.
Junior non-commissioned officers and privates of the Volunteer Regiment who wish to join
the Motor-Corps can do so without resigning membership of their Infantry Battalion. In the
event of mobilization they will serve with the Motor Corps and not with the Infantry.
The Corps will be organised in Light and Heavy Squadrons, for which all classes of Motor
vehicles are required: lorries, vans, ambulances, cars, bicycles, etc.
Petro will be supplied by the State when vehicles are used for military services.
Applications should be made to Lieut.-General Sir Robert Scallon, at the Offices of the
Territorial Association, 16 Silver Street, Worcester, for forms on which offers can be made,
both of personal service and of vehicles, also for any further information that may be
required.
