               November 1918

Fighting is practically over - Now that there is every reason to suppose the fighting
is practically over, Worcestershire is considering the question of a county memorial. The
committee entrusted with the making of recommendations has no light tasks before it. It
will be difficult to discover a form of commemoration that is completely worthy of the object
for no soldiers have done better than those from Worcestershire. Various suggestions were
offered at the meeting at Worcester on Saturday, and although nothing that can be done is
too good we have no doubt that a scheme will be evolved which will command general
support. Censorship regulations have prevented publicity as to the whereabouts of corps,
but it may now be mentioned that Worcestershire units have been prominent in Belgium,
France, Italy, Salonika, Gallipoli, Egypt, Palestine, Mesopotamia and Caucasia. Men from
the county serving in other regiments have of course been engaged in every field of the
               world war.
