               Private Alfred James Clarke, born and enlisted in Redditch, Service No 102095, Labour Corps,

               died of wounds, 10  January 1918, France.  Formerly Service No 55566, Devon Regiment.  At
               the time he enlisted in 1915 he was 21 and he lived at 23 Marsden Road, Redditch, he was a
               Grinder.  He was awarded the British War Medal and Victory Medal.

               Military Cross – Lieutenant P. Hastings Leach, Royal Field Artillery, who has been
               awarded the Military Cross, is the eldest son of Mr George E. Leach, J.P., The Gables,
               Redditch.  Lieutenant Leach held a commission prior to the war in the Redditch Battery
               Artillery.
