The HISTORY of REDDITCH New Town





                                                                      Each  estate  was  planned  as  a
                                                                      community         with    local    shops,
                                                                      community and medical facilities.

                                                                      As  estates  were  built  these  were
                                                                      often  provided  with  temporary
                                                                      facilities  whilst  long-term  facilities
                                                                      were being planned.





                                                                      Each estate centre, like Woodrow
                                                                      below,  was  traffic  free  but  car
                                                                      parking  and  public  transport  was
                                                                      nearby.










       A  proud  day  as  Woodrow
       Centre is officially opened.









































       Development Corporation publicity material
       was  quick  to  promote  the  family  friendly
       nature of the local centres.
