        Executing The Plan


                                                                       Housing  was  a  priority  and  most
                                                                       estates contained a range of houses
                                                                       from  rented  social  housing  to
                                                                       private built for purchase.




















        Housing standards were set to the
        “latest  regulations  or  higher”  and
        although  some  estates  were  quite
        densely populated with houses, no
        high-rise     tower      blocks     were











                                                               The motor car was seen as an essential part
                                                               of the future and parking spaces or garages
                                                               were part of the specification to be met.






















        Similarly, consideration was given to
        the  “view”  from  each  house,  and
        green  space  and  play  areas  were
        planned within close proximity.
