John Bonham “The Rhythm of Redditch” was made possible
with the support of the partners of the Cultural Compact
for North East Worcestershire, a partnership of
organisations all with a collective ambition to build pride
across the Redditch and Bromsgrove area.
It sits within the context of the partnership’s first major
public facing participation campaign : ReNEW (Rediscover
North East Worcestershire) which encourages local people
to “share stories” in a bid to shape the future of the local
area. The legacy of John Bonham is an amazing example of
why we are so proud of the place where we live and we
want the whole world to know about it!
This particular project would not have been possible
without the leadership support of Redditch Borough
Council and a broad range of exciting contributions from
Redditch library managed by Worcestershire County
Council, Muj Rahman at the Redditch BID, Ros Sidaway at
the John Bonham Memorial Friends who provided much of
the information and images shared here and Sue Thomas.
The cultural content was developed with the specialist
support of Birmingham Open Media, Grin Creative, Matt
Green at the Palace Drum Clinic, and Jez Collins at
Birmingham Music Archive
The project was made possible through funding from the
UK Government.
