Band of Joy
1966 was an important year for John. In February he
married Pat Phillips, their son Jason was born in July,
and he joined The Way of Life. John’s next band, The
Crawling King Snakes, was the first one that paired
John and Robert Plant together, and they both went
on to play in one of the most significant groups in
West Midlands rock history, Band of Joy, before John
joined Tim Rose on tour in 1968.
