       Son of Henry and Anne m Jan 1607/08 Catherine daughter of Edward Somerset 4th earl
       of Worcester. Childless.

       Admitted Middle Temple 1600; licence to travel abroad 1607/8; Knight of the Bath at the
       creation of Henry, Prince of Wales, 1610; Rear Admiral in the Swiftsure, sent to bring
       Prince Charles out of Spain 1623.

       Life and Times of Sir Thomas Windsor

       Son of the Hon. Elizabeth (daughter of Henry 5th Baron)
       and  Dixie  Hickman.  Thomas  changed  his  name  from
       Hickman to Windsor in order to inherit the Barony.

       m (1) 1656 Anne Savile (1634 - 1666)

       Children: Mary (d 1694); Other (1659 - 1684); Ann (died
       in infancy).

                    Thomas (d. 1738)

       He succeeded to the family estates at Hewell in 1645, the same year he distinguished
       himself at the Battle of Naseby. He also impressed Charles 1 by relieving the Royalist
       garrison at High Ercall.

       The title baron Windsor was called out of Abeyance on 16th June 1660.

       From 1661 to 1663 he served as Governor General of Jamaica.


       Sir  Thomas  was  interested  in  navigation  of  the  Warwickshire  Avon.  Restoration  of  the
       Pershore sluice enabled navigation from Tewkesbury up as far as Evesham. The rights to
       the Avon navigation would be passed to his children, Andrews and Thomas, in the will of
       Ursula.
