Redditch People

Redditch Borough Council leader, Carole Gandy (Cons, Headless Cross and Oakenshaw),
said: "Betty was the sort of character that local politics lacks nowadays.
"We did not always see eye to eye but what was great about her was her passionate work
in the voluntary sector and for women’s refuge.
"She also worked extremely hard for the integration of Polish, Asian, black and indigenous
communities in the town." Councillors are set to pay further tribute to Coun Passingham
in a full Redditch Borough Council meeting on June 30 and a full Worcestershire County
Council meeting on June 26.
