               Redditch Soldier Absentees – At a special court on Thursday in last week, Frederick
               Wright, Hill Street, Redditch was remanded to await a military escort upon a charge of being
                                               rd
               absent without leave from the 3  Battalion, Worc. Regiment.  Wright served in the Boer
               War, and was wounded in the present campaign in Flanders.
               A similar charge was preferred at a special Court on Friday against Second Lieutenant Wm.

               Hadkiss of the 11  (2  reserve) Batt. Loyal North Lancashire Regt., formerly of Webheath.
               When spoken to by Inspector Wagstaff, at Redditch, prisoner admitted that he had done
               wrong, and said he was willing to take the consequences.  He was remanded, and later on
               handed over to the military escort.
               On Tuesday, Albert Cash, of Edward Street, Redditch, who had fought in the Boer War and
               the present campaign, was remanded to await a military escort, he having been absent from
               his regiment, the Royal Warwicks, without leave. – Police-constable Cowell was commended
               for his smartness in taking steps which led to Cash’s arrest.
