Four Redditch Brothers on Active Service
Four Redditch brothers – the sons of Mr J. Franklin, 11 Oswald Street, Redditch – are with the
colours. Sergt. W. Franklin, of the King’s Liverpool Regiment, who is 39 years of age, served
through the Boer War. He has a wife and two children. Pte. H. Franklin of the Royal Welsh
Fusiliers, is married and has a family of three. Pte. J. Franklin, of the Motor Transport
Section, is also married. Corporal Harold Franklin, the youngest, is with the R.F.A. All are on
foreign service in the same country.

Official Information has been received of the death of Pte W. Bould-

Regiment, born and resided in Redditch, enlisted in Worcester, killed in action, 6 August
1915, Balkan Theatre. Remembered on Helles Memorial, Turkey. Final resting place
unknown. )
Remembered on St George’s war memorial, Redditch.
(On 1911 census William Henry Bould aged 11, pauper at Bromsgrove, Union Workhouse. On the 1911 census
