               Although George Henry Houghton was born in Redditch he emigrated to Canada with his

               wife Elizabeth (Webb) and their 10 children to Quebec on 26  May 1912.  He was killed on
                         th
               October 4  1916 aged 40 at Vimy Ridge, France  and he is remembered on Vimy Memorial.
               His parents were Henry and Sarah Houghton who were living at 16 Windsor Street, Redditch
               on 1881 census.  There is a family tree (Bernie’s family tree) on Ancestry site with these
               details.
