Webheath Soldier Honoured – Mrs Bott, Bromsgrove Road, Webheath, has
received information that her husband Sergt. A. Bott, Royal Garrison Artillery, has received
the award of the Belgian Croix de Guerre for gallantry on the field and devotion to duty.
Sergt. Bott is 33 years of age, and prior to the war was employed by Messrs. T. Webb and
Sons, Redditch. He was a reservist, and re-joined his regiment at the general mobilisation
               upon the outbreak in 1914.

               Headless Cross Soldier’s Distinction – Sergt.-Major W. T. Day, whose parents
resided at Park Farm, Headless Cross, was a few weeks ago mentioned in despatches.
Previous to this he had been awarded the Military Medal. He has now received further
recognition for bravery, having been awarded the Belgian Croix de Guerre Medal for
dressing wounds and rescuing wounded under heavy fire during October and November.
Prior to the war Sergt.-Major Day was in the Birmingham Police Force. He has four brothers
on active service, one with the forces in Italy, another in France, a third in Mespotamia, and
               the fourth in the Balkans.
