Tardebigge – V.A.D. Hospital Concert – On Thursday in last week the members of
the New Road Baptist Church Choir, Bromsgrove, provided an interesting programme for the
“blue boys,” who formed an appreciative audience. Under the leadership of Mr W. Pennells,
the Choir rendered a number of glees, and a double quartet party sang some part-songs
most effectively. Individual items, consisting of songs, duets, recitations, and instrumental
music, were contributed by members of the Choir, and these together with a supply of
cigarettes, provided two hours’ enjoyment for all. The bus service enabled the party to make
the journey in comparative comfort, in spite of the inclement weather.
