France. Corporal Charles Bertram Clarkson, (292) buried at Bagneux British Cemetery,
Gezaincourt, France. Parents Charles Albert and Elizabeth Clarkson, of 36 Stratford Street,
Sparkhill, Birmingham.
(Charles Bertram Clarkson was born in 1896 in Bromsgrove, District. On the 1911 census Charles Bertram
Clarkson, aged 15, born in Redditch, Grocer’s assistant, lived with his parents Charles Albert Grocer, employer
and Elizabeth and siblings in Meysey Hampton and Poulton, Gloucestershire.)

L/Corporal Alfred William Chambers, (29081), 8 Battalion, Prince Albert’s (Somerset Light

Infantry), born and resided in Redditch, enlisted in Stourbridge, died of wounds, 26 August
1918, Western European Theatre. Buried Bagneux British Cemetery, Gezaincourt, Picardie,
France. Aged 19, parents, Alfred and Evelyn Chambers, of 17 Adelaide Street, Redditch.
Remembered on St Stephen’s war memorial, Redditch.

Private Kenneth Herbert Pearson, (766615), 28 (County of London) Battalion (Artists Rifles),
born and resided in Redditch, enlisted in Stourbridge,died of wounds received in the retreat

from Thilloy near Bapaume, 30 August 1918, Western European Theatre, aged 19. When
he joined the London Regiment in 1917 he was aged 17 and lived Old Bank House, Redditch.
Buried Bagneux British Cemetery, Gezaincourt, France, Parents Herbert Andrew and Kate
Elizabeth Pearson.
Remembered on St Stephen’s war memorial, Redditch.
