Palace Theatre – The manager of this theatre appeared in support of
an application for a license for six children to take part in a stage play
next week. – May 1918
It was pointed out that the application was not in order, but the Bench agreed to try and
hold a special court at the beginning of next week, the Chairman intimating that this would
be the last time they would act in such a way.

Home Hut – On Sunday night a crowded public meeting was held at
the Palace theatre to celebrate the opening of the home hut in
Evesham Street. – September 1918
The hut has been provided for the use of discharged and demobilised soldiers and sailors and
any others who may be in the town or passing through. It is conveniently arranged, and will
supply a long felt want. The meeting was presided over by Mr A. Gregory, and addresses
were given by Miss Henty and Miss Beatrice Hankey, the latter giving interesting items from
her experiences in various home camps.
