Elsie Siddele Downing

Dance Teacher and Fundraiser

Elsie Biggs, nee Downing, is probably best known for 1908 - 1994
her dance schools and the lavish shows performed
from the early 1940s, many at the Palace Theatre. Elsie Siddele Downing

As well as masterminding the productions, she
appeared in the shows herself in early years but later
went on to be an adjudicator at dance competitions
all over the country.

She was also known for her fundraising at the
Redditch carnivals.
