David Vann

David Vann was the son of Roy Vann, the Redditch - 2014
Librarian, and Marguerite Vann, Senior Mistress at
Redditch County High School. David Vann

He was educated at Redditch County High School and (Source: Birmingham School of
later at drama college. In order to earn his ‘Equity Acting – Birmingham City
Card’ he began by performing as a clown at parties
and he was then later able to appear on the stage.

He also had roles on the radio and was probably best
known as P.C. Dave Barry of "The Archers" who
famously had an affair with Sid Perks wife, Kathy.

At the time of his sudden death on the 19 October
2014 he was ‘long-time acting tutor and much-loved
