He is now urging residents to get behind a new campaign to make sure services, and the
hospital itself, is not scrapped.
He said: “I believe the people of Redditch and surrounding areas will fight to save these
vital services, and I intend to help them do just that.
“I want to make sure they get their voices heard, put tough questions to those in charge
and ensure they feel they can make a difference to these proposals.
“I believe the campaign was successful in 2005 - 2007 because people stood up and
made themselves heard, the campaign got backing from Redditch Council, the Redditch
MP at the time, Karen Lumley our current MP, the Bromsgrove MP, the Stratford MP and
others from all walks of life.
“I honestly believe it can be done again if everybody gets behind it.”
Mr Stote added: “To sum up the options, I cannot understand why no finance work has
been done around any of the proposals, it is obvious to me as they say they have to save
money they should at least know and state what each option would save or cost.
“It would be pretty silly to pick an option for full consultation then find out you cannot
afford it.
