Fred Morris

Founder of Hardware Store

In 1895 Fred Morris founded the Redditch Morris
Mica, which was then known as Morris Redditch Ltd.,
hardware. Fred was joined by his brother Bill Morris.
It was then Bill’s son Alan who took over the
business after the war with his wife Eleanor, who still
works for Morris Mica after 60 years.

Frederick Henry Morris was born in 1878 in Redditch. 1878 - 1974
He died in 1974 in Redditch. FM Morris Circa 1895

Life and Times of Fred Morris

Morris Hardware are a longstanding family business established originally in 1895 by Mr.
Fred Morris. Starting out on Mount Pleasant road in Redditch as a purveyor of drapery,
our range has expanded down the years to now encompass everything you would expect
from a modern DIY & hardware store. We now have two stores, in Headless Cross -
Redditch, and Alcester, Warwickshire. As well as working hard in store, They strive to
play an active role in supporting the local community.
