Harding’s International coaches was started by No Picture Available
Ernest Harding over 80 years ago when he brought a
sharabang along with his friend Arthur Chinn. He
was the maternal grandfather of John Dyson. They
provided a regular service from Redditch to
Longbridge for British Leyland (formerly the Austin)
workers. They originally operated from the family
home in Crabbs Cross.

Kath Harris
Teacher, and first Head Mistress of St.Lukes No Picture Available
Ipsley
She was a much loved teacher at Back Hill School in
Ipsley Street and ended up as Head of Ipsley Street
School. She started teaching in 1916, in a time of
Zeppelin raids and buses propelled by gas bags and
no refrigerators. Her ancestors were among those
who moved from the needle making town of Long
Crendon to Redditch. Her father was a member of
the Worshipful Company of Needlemakers.
