Colonel Wallace Charles Devereux

Entrepreneur and Managing Director of High
Duty Alloys

High Duty Alloys came into being through the efforts
of a dominant personality, Colonel Wallace Charles
Devereux. From the late 1920s Devereux became one
of the most important names in British industry and
in stature stands alongside any of the people in
aviation at that time, people like Geoffrey de
Havilland, Frederick Handley Page and Sir Henry
Royce. In many ways Devereux and HDA remain
unsung heroes of World War Two.
